Basic Scandinavian Genealogy

Basic Scandinavian Genealogy In-Person

Basic Scandinavian Genealogy

Tuesday, January 29th from 6:30-7:30pm in Multipurpose Room B
The Scandinavian people are hardy stock that lived through many challenges and survived.  They weren’t afraid to battle the seas, tame the rocky land, or cross the ocean in search for a better life for their families in America.
In this Scandinavian Genealogy Class, you will learn the foundation for starting your journey to find your Scandinavian ancestors. This includes Scandinavian naming patterns, handwriting, record keeping, and church, census, and immigration records. This class is focused on the beginner who discovered that they have Scandinavian ancestry and wants to learn more.  However, all people are welcome to come whether they know they have Scandinavian ancestry or not to learn some tips about how to start your own ancestry journey. Feel free to bring something to take notes with and any questions you might have about this topic.
