Green is Good for You: Why Low-Impact Grocery Shopping Matters to You and Your Planet

Green is Good for You: Why Low-Impact Grocery Shopping Matters to You and Your Planet In-Person

The average Treasure Valley resident will generate more than 4.5 pounds of trash every day this year. Nearly one-third of our waste stream is comprised of single-use packaging and containers, and a large percentage of this originates from the grocery store. This discarded material comes at a high price to our local and global habitats. Join us to learn how to limit packaging and container waste, select more sustainable products, and effectively recycle these materials in your community – while enhancing your wellness and your wallet in the process.

Jillien Eijckelhof is the founder of the Zero Waste Boise Institute (ZWBI), whose mission is to increase awareness of the impact of throw-away consumerism and to advance the principles of reduce and reuse.
