Summer Concert: Gary Eller

Summer Concert: Gary Eller In-Person

Becuase of the heat it will now be inside in the Local History area. Live concert on the Nampa Smiles Terrace. From the latest edition of the Idaho Songs Project, Gary Eller will perform excerpts from SONGS of EARLY IDAHO STOCK HANDLERS. Mr. Eller was awarded the 2020 Governor’s Award in Fine Arts!

During the 2nd half of the concert, the local band Wilder will sing classic Country music. Wilder consists of veterans Gary "Slim" Eller (guitar, banjo), Jay Fromlath (bass), and David Gerthung (mandolin). The trio is joined on occasion by a talented fourth musician, often Earl Hughes (guitar, dobro, fiddle) or Dennis Cooper (harmonica). Wilder emphasizes the driving, hard-edged sound of pre-1970 bluegrass as well as early country music. The band’s name was inspired by the town near Jay’s home along Snake River in Southwest Idaho.

This is an outdoor venue, however, if inclement weather, concert will be moved indoors to 3rd Fl. History area of the Library.
